Map layers and datasets
Put drone orthophotos, satellite or LiDAR tiles and public constraint layers on the property map, use them as exclusions for plot layouts and as landscape context, and explore datasets such as cull records.

Map layers are for navigation and context: they are dated, credited, and never scored.
Map layers
- 1 + Add layer
- 2 Show / hide and opacity
- 3 Pending until someone confirms it
- Choose + Add layer.
- Show or hide each layer and set its opacity.
- Confirm or reject new layers. A new layer is Pending review — preview only until someone confirms it.
- 1 Kind and source
- 2 Name and attribution (shown on the map)
- 3 Date captured and the file
- Kind and source — a vector file (GeoJSON), a georeferenced image (a drone ortho placed by its bounding box or corners — never warped), or a tile service (an https URL with {z}/{x}/{y}); and where it came from (drone, satellite, LiDAR, public data).
- Name and attribution — who made it and the licence; shown on the map.
- The date captured, and the file (or the tile URL). Optionally the stand it belongs to.
- A vector layer can be marked as hedgerows, treelines or broadleaf woodland: the length or area within 2 km of each stand is then shown beside biodiversity results, with the layer’s source and date — never scored.
- Confirmed polygon layers (rides, roads, water, open ground) can be ticked as exclusions in the layout generator (Plan a field visit).
Datasets
A dataset (from Import anything) appears on the map with Colour by, Size by and date filters, a Show table view, and per-year totals in Results beside the time series. Context only — never combined with a score.
A GeoPackage (.gpkg) can be imported too: each vector layer is listed for you to pick, and its coordinates are read from the file (Lambert-93 included). Raster tiles in a GeoPackage, such as an orthophoto, are not read: add imagery as a tile service or a georeferenced image layer.
- No photogrammetry, tiling or warping: bring finished orthos or tiles.
- LiDAR and satellite layers are pictures on the map; derived values come in through Standard imports and wait for review.
- Line features are not used as layout exclusions.
