At a glance: the Overview

Every stand opens on its Overview: How each topic is doing in plain words (with the technical headline under it), what needs you, what is coming up and the stand’s facts. Select a topic card to open it in Results.

Each topic over time

Web appResults › Stand data.
  1. 1 Pick a topic (dot = status)
  2. 2 Each visit against the target band
  3. 3 The selected visit in words
  1. Pick a topic. The dot shows its status: on target, close to target, off target, not measured.
  2. The chart shows each visit against the target; dashed lines mark interventions. Select a point to see that inventory — and where it was measured on the map below.
  3. The selected visit — its date, verdict, headline, number of visits, and the method used (with its provisional badge).

What each topic’s result means — thresholds, bands and their sources — is in its Measurements guide.

Trend to target

Web appTrend to target: one metric drifting.
  1. 1 On track · drifting · reached
  • Each target metric is followed across the stand’s own visits: a least-squares line with a 90 % interval from three visits, a simple rate with two.
  • The chip says on track, drifting or reached, with an estimated year when it is on track — never extrapolated beyond twice the period measured.
  • It is a trend, not a forecast: it assumes the stand keeps doing what it did between your visits.
  • Metrics with only a desired direction (e.g. natural colonists in young woodland) show their direction of travel only.

Beside the time series, and across the property

Web appA dataset beside the time series.
Web appEvery stand coloured by its status.

Beside the time series puts a dataset (for example deer cull returns) next to the topic, year by year — shown side by side for context; the two are never combined and no cause is implied. Across the property colours each stand by its latest status for the topic and shows the plots measured on the selected visit.

The evaluation in full

Web appLatest evaluation in full.
  1. 1 Pick any visit
  2. 2 Unconfirmed values left out
  1. Pick any visit to read its evaluation.
  2. Notices say what to bear in mind: provisional thresholds, and how many unconfirmed values were left out.

Then every indicator with its value, target, status and basis — how it was computed and from what (e.g. 118 trees on 8 sample locations). Each visit is scored with the method version in force on its date.

Web appⓘ explains a term in place.

Across your book: the Portfolio

Web appPortfolio.
  1. 1 Status filters with counts
  2. 2 Search and filter
  1. Status filters with counts — on target, near target, drifting, missing data.
  2. Search client, property or stand, and filter by client. Each row opens its stand; on a phone, rows become cards.
What it doesn’t do (yet)
  • No year slider on the map; select a visit on the chart instead.
  • No scenario comparison (e.g. crown vs low thinning); the projection is a single empirical one.
  • No email digest of drifting stands yet (planned).
