ForesterSet up clients, woodlands and stands; choose methods and targets; lay out plots; record in the field; confirm or reject proposals and imports; generate reports.Manage users or transfer clients.
Owner (read-only)See their own woodland, results, photos and reports; export all of it.Change anything, or see other clients.

Who may do what is decided by the app’s own database, whichever way people sign in.

Add a forester or admin

  1. Open Organisation in the top bar. The users table lists everyone with their role.
  2. Fill in Add a user: name, email and role (Forester or Org admin). With the app’s own sign-in you also set a Temporary password to pass on safely; with Google sign-in there is no password field.
  3. Choose Add user (Invite user with Google sign-in). With Google sign-in, Google emails the person a link to set their own password; the page says whether the email went out.
Web appOrganisation › Users. With Google sign-in the password field is not shown and the button reads Invite user.
  1. 1 Who is in the organisation, and their role
  2. 2 Name, email, password (local sign-in only) and role
  3. 3 Add user (Invite user with Google sign-in)

Give an owner read-only access

Owner logins are created from the client’s page, so each owner is tied to their own woodland and sees nothing else.

  1. Open the client (Clients › the client) and scroll to Data ownership › Owner access. Enter the owner’s name, email and — with the app’s own sign-in — a temporary password.
  2. Choose Create read-only owner login (Invite the owner (read-only) with Google sign-in).
Web appA client’s Data ownership card. Only admins see Owner access and Transfer.
  1. 1 The owner’s name, email and a temporary password
  2. 2 Create read-only owner login
  3. 3 Transfer to another organisation (admins only)

What the owner then sees is in For woodland owners.

Receive a client from another organisation

  1. Choose Generate transfer code under Receive a client from another organisation.
  2. Give the code to the organisation managing the client. It is single-use and expires at the time shown. They enter it on the client’s page and choose Transfer client; the client and all their data move to you.
Web appA one-time transfer code.
  1. 1 Generate transfer code
  2. 2 The one-time code and when it expires
Tip

Use one login per person — the app records who measured, confirmed and imported each value, and reports and the evidence index name them.

What it doesn’t do (yet)
  • There is no screen to change someone’s role or remove a user; ask your provider.
  • Sharing one client between two organisations (for example a group scheme manager) is not built: a client belongs to one organisation at a time.
  • Optional multi-factor sign-in is a Google Identity Platform setting your provider turns on; the app has no screen for it.
