Troubleshooting and FAQ

Sync needs a connection; it also runs by itself when there is one. Tap the chip and Sync now. If it says 2 need you, there are conflicts or rejected changes to resolve (Sync and conflicts). Your records stay on the phone until they are sent.

Map not saved: tap Save for offline while you have signal. Data offline: the data is on the phone but your site has no offline basemap, so only map areas you have viewed are cached — open the map over the woodland once with signal. No map boundary: draw the property boundary on the web.

Sync the phone. There is no separate “send to field” step.

You choose field by field — Keep mine or Take server’s. Nothing is overwritten silently.

Normal for a phone under trees. Get close with the arrow, then use the marker, witness trees and traverse (Find your plots). To improve a plot’s stored position, average the GPS at the centre for a minute, ideally in a gap.

Hold the phone flat, away from metal (a tape case, a vehicle), and calibrate the phone’s compass in Android settings.

Turn Bluetooth on in the instrument and press SEND; for Bluetooth Classic, pair it in Android’s Bluetooth settings first. Allow the app’s Bluetooth (and location, on older Android) permission — no location is recorded for this. Then Search for 10 s.

Use its keyboard (HID) mode: pair it in Android settings; each reading is typed into the field you are on, as a proposal. Some Bluetooth formats are not published (Vertex 5, Masser’s own) — use keyboard mode or type the value.

It is probably unconfirmed — from voice, the camera, an instrument or an import. The evaluation says how many values it left out. Accept them under Review incoming.

The method uses published defaults awaiting confirmation. The result is usable and labelled; each method card says what is provisional (Measurements).

A trend needs two visits (a rate) or three (a line with an interval), and a target for the topic.

It was designed for another region. You can still use it (Methods & targets).

Your site has no AI key set. Answer the questions with the pickers, choose a saved format, or write the mapping; standard imports work as usual. Ask your provider if you need AI-assisted mapping.

The Confirm card lists what blocks it — open questions, rows with errors, unknown plots. Answer, tick Leave out the rows with errors or Create the new sample locations, then confirm.

With Google sign-in: enter your email, then Forgot password? — Google emails a link (check spam). With the app’s own sign-in, ask your organisation admin.

You are signed in but not part of an organisation. Ask your consultant or admin for an invite; register an organisation only if you run a practice.

Fixed on 3 October 2026: clicks on the boundary map no longer stop the drawing. Reload the app if it still happens.
